Shalini Joshi is Assistant Professor, Media Studies, Haridev Joshi University of Journalism and Mass Communication, Jaipur, Rajasthan. Following two decades in mainstream media, she joined the first Indian private news channel Zee TV (now Zee News) in May 1995. In 1997, she became a producer in BBC World Service. In 2001, she moved to Uttarakhand as Bureau Incharge, AajTak. Apart from contributing to radio and TV news, she has extensively written for national dailies and magazines on socio-cultural and political issues. She moved to academics in 2013. Her research papers have been published in journals like Sanchar Madhyam, Communication Today and Samayantar. She has authored two books on new media—Naya Media: Adhyayan aur Abhyaas (2015) and Web Patrakaarita: Naya Media Naye Rujhaan (2012).
