"VimalaVeeraraghavan, a Gold Medalist in MA in psychology from University of Delhi has headed the Department of Psychology and Applied Psychology in the same university. Later after retirement, served as Professor and Director General, Amity Institute of Behavioural Health and Allied Sciences, Amity University, Noida. Subsequently she joined Indira Gandhi National Open University as Emeritus Professor, and established the psychology department in that university She has also established forensic science departments at Amity University and has been a regular resource person to Defence Institute of PsychologicalResearch (DIPR) and National Institute of Criminology and Forensic Sciences (NICFS). She had earlier worked in the Jawaharlal Nehru University as Associate Professor in the ZakirHussain Center for Educational Studies. Dr. Veeraraghavan has had a distinguished career spanning more than four decades in the fields of mental health, counselling, education and research. Has been a visiting professor to Thmmasat University, Bangkok in addition to being invited to present special workshops in mental health and chairing sessions at national and international conferences. She has been the recipient of many awards, amongst which the notable ones are those of Indian Council of Social Science Research (ICSSR) Teacher Fellowship award, and Indian Council of Philosophical Research (ICPR) National Fellowship award and and prestigious the Asiatic Society award for her lifelong contribution to psychology. Dr. . Veeraraghavan has authored 18 books, the most recent being A Textbook of Parametric and Non-parametric statistics, published by Sage India 2016."
