Debarati Halder

Debarati Halder is Professor and Head at the Centre for Research on Law and Policy in United World School of Law, Gandhinagar, Gujarat. She is honorary managing director of the Centre for Cyber Victim Counselling (CCVC), India. She is the founder secretary of South Asian Society of Criminology and Victimology. She received her LLB from the University of Calcutta and her Master’s Degree in International and Constitutional Law from the University of Madras and PhD degree from the National Law School of India University (NLSIU), Bengaluru. Dr Halder has published three books, two authored books and an edited book, and many articles in international peer-reviewed journals including the British Journal of Criminology, Journal of Law and Religion, Annals in Criminology, Victims and Offenders and Temida. She served as resource person for many government and non-government organizations. She has been on the Panel Advocate to Child Welfare Committee, Juvenile Justice Board and Juvenile Home at Tirunelveli, Tamil Nadu. She has been invited as an expert resource person and consultant for UNICEF’s project on state of children: Digital World of Children and Cyber Security Handbook. Dr Halder has served as vicepresident for kids and teens division and internet safety advocate for Working to Halt Online Abuse (WHOA) from 2008 to 2015.
